Amer Fort also called as Amber Fort is one of the mots majestic forts of Rajasthan State located about 11 km from Jaipur. The Fort overlooks the Maota Lake and was built by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 using red sandstone and white marble. Amber Fort of Jaipur is one of the famous tourist destinations of Rajasthan. The tough precluding outer surface belies an inward heaven with a wonderful combination of craft and architecture.

Amber Fort is the classic royal and sentimental fortification castle with a grand atmosphere. The huge walls of the castle portrays expressive painting scenes with carvings, valuable stones, and mirror settings.With its large ramparts, series of gates and cobbled paths the fort attracts millions of tourist every year from all around the year.

Inside Amber Fort

Inside Amber Fort you will find 4 sections with their own majestic entrances gate and courtyard . While the main entry is from Suraj Pole also called as Sun Gate , from here one can ride the elephant for a royal feel. It leads to the main courtyard of the fort called as Jaleb Chowk where during ancient times the armies were welcomed after war. Here you will also find a temple known as Kali Temple also called Shila Devi Temple which was built by Maharaja Man Singh .

The second courtyard contains Diwan-i-Am or the Public Audience Hall while the third courtyard comprises of the private quarters of the King and His Family. The quarters are separated by gardens built in Mughal Styles. The Fourth courtyard comprises of the living area of Royal family women which are connected through a common corridor but are designed such a way to ensure privacy to each room.

Monday To Sunday – 8:00 am to 6:00 pm

For Indian Tourist – Rs.25/- Per Person
For Foreign Tourist – Rs.200/- Per Person

How To Reach Amber Fort

Amber Fort is based atop the hill so one have to take a walk from some point or one can enjoy the ride of an elephant. One can find easily taxis from Ajmeri Gate and MI Road which will take about 20 minutes to reach there. Walking will take about 20 minutes to reach the fort.
