The Golden temple is the divine abode of the Sikhs located in the city of Amritsar. A significant temple is a place of great beauty and sublime peacefulness. It was constructed by the fifth Sikh guru, Guru Arjan, who himself designed the structure of the temple. The Temple has some exceptional features, spread over in the center of a Sarovar. The devotees bathe in the pool and believe that the water has some remedial assets that can cure many diseases. The huge dining halls and dormitories in the shrine offer Guru Ka Langar and accommodation to all pilgrims. The Golden Temple has an exceptional architectural style, there are four entrances here. The temple is a two story marble structure and can be reached by the Guru’s bridge. The upper floor is gold plated and crowned with a dome and the lower floor is made of white marble. The main attraction here is the murals that adorn the walls and ceilings of the temple. This spectacular shrine resides numerous other small temples inside its premises. The Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the sacred book of the Sikhs, embellishes the sanctum of the shrine.
