The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus previously called as Victoria Terminus Station located in in Mumbai is an outstanding example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture in India, blended with themes deriving from Indian traditional architecture. The building is a UNESCO World Heritage Site designed by the British architect F. W. Stevens. The terminus station was built in 1887 and took about 10 year to built and was named in honour of the reigning Queen and Empress Victoria.

Built in 1887 and displays the stunning architectural excellence of Gothic style inspired by Indian architecture. The skyline, turrets, pointed arches, and eccentric ground plan are close to traditional Indian palace architecture. The station stands as an example of 19th century railway architectural marvels for its advanced structural and technical solutions.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus has 18 platforms – 7 are for locals trains and 11 are for long distance and serves as the headquarters of the Central Railways.
