Lahaul and Spiti is a district of the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. This district was two separate districts named as Lahaul and Spiti but it formerly came together in the year 1960. Lahaul and Spiti are both quite different from each other on the climatic point of view but they both are valleys. Spiti is more infertile and difficult to cross, and it is surrounded between harsh ranges, and it also has the Spiti River flowing beside the ranges in the southeast where it meets the Sutlej River. Spiti is a distinctive mountain desert area whereas when we talk about Lahaul then this place is also covered with hard grasses and the place is covered with shrubs too.
