Laxmi Narayan Temple is located near Gole Market, Mandir Marg, Connaught Place and was built in 1939 by industrialist G.D. Birla. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi.It is one of the most famous temples of Delhi sprawling over over 7.5 acres and comprises of many shrines, fountains, and a large garden.
Laxmi Narayan Temple temple is built in Nagara style of Hindu temple architecture with beautiful carvings of god and goddesses of Hindu religions. The sanctum sanctorum is about 160 feet high that houses statues of Lord Narayan and Hindu Goddess Lakshmi.
The temple is easily accessible from the city by local buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws. Nearest Delhi Metro station is R.K.Ashram Marg, located about 2 km away.
Laxmi Narayan Temple is open from 6am to 10pm every day and is never closed , it is open to all castes as it was the condition laid by Mahatma Gandhi before inaugurating this temple. There is no entry fees for the temple.
