Mount Abu is a popular hill station located in the state of Rajasthan in India. It is settled on the Aravalli Ranges and also called as the ‘Oasis of the Desert’ because this hill station is the home to some wonderful waterfalls, lakes, lush green forests and rich flora and fauna. This is a major tourist destination of the country and thousands of people visit every year to this place. Mount Abu is located in the Gujarat border so this place is easily accessed by Gujarat. You can visit the Dilwara Temples which is known for their rich grandeur and beautiful architecture. Made in spotless white marble this Jain temple was built in between 11th and 13th centuries and this temple is considered as one of the most beautiful Jain architectures in the world. Inside this temple, you can find five distinct temples dedicated to Vimal Vasahi, Luna Vasahi, Pithalpur, Parshvanath, and Mahavir Swami.
- You can also visit to the Achalgarh Fort which was made by the rulers of the Paramara Dynasty and outside this fort you can see a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva called as the Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple and also see the Nandi or the Bull which is made of brass outside the fort.
- You can also visit the Nakki Lake which is a great spot for enjoying the water. Here you can also go for boating and see the beautiful golden sunset amidst the high rising fountains. This is an ideal place to be visited with family and children.
- Most importantly you can visit the Mount Abu wildlife sanctuary where you can see rich wildlife of the state. In this sanctuary, you can spot various mammals, with around 250 species of birds. Among various wild creatures you can spot a good number of lions as this sanctuary was previously known to be the hub of lions and along with that you can also spot tigers, sloth bears, hedgehog, porcupine, wild boar, Indian fox, sambar, jungle cat, hyena, small Indian civet, common langur, wild boar, pangolin, mongoose, Indian hare and many others.
