Nashik is one of the big cities of the state of Maharashtra in India. This city is found with many ancient pieces of evidence that make this place an important place of tourism of the state. Nashik is located on the banks of River Godavari as known for the highest production of grapes and onions. This city is known for its numerous and significant temples and hundreds of Hindu pilgrims visit this city for religious visits. Nashik is one of the most important places counted among Hindu pilgrims in all over the country and it is significant for being an important place linked with the Ramayana era as well as the Mughal Period. Nashik is an important place among Hindus because the Kumbh Mela which is held in every 12 years is held here and it is also said that Lord Rama spent his 14 years of exile in the nearby forests of Nashik.

  • Nashik is a place basically with religious significance so you can start your trip with the Trimbakeshwar Mandir which is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in all over India. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and this place has got importance in various Hindu religious books and epics.
  • You can also visit some of the very important temples out here are the Kalaram temple which is dedicated to Lord Rama, Sita and Lakhsmana, and 70 feet huge structure made of black stone can be seen here. You can also visit the Muktidham Temple which is a beautiful white temple made exclusively with marble stone and you can see the auspicious shlokas of Sri Bhagwad Geeta scripted on the walls of the temple.
  • You can also visit the Coin Museum which is indeed a very interesting place to visit as you can see coins from ancient India in this place. This museum is also known as The Indian Institute of Research in Numismatic Studies. You can see a vast array of researched and well-documented history of Indian currency along with good collections of photographs, real coins and their replicas, articles, line drawings, can be seen.
  • You can visit the Pandavleni Caves which are almost 2000 years old. There are 24 caves to be seen and in these caves you can see the idols of Buddha, Veer Manibhadraji and Ambikadevi, Jain Teerthankara Vrishabhdeo, and the images of Bodhisatva too.
