Lal Quila is gigantic architectural building that is the perfect pride Mughal Empire as well as Indian History. Built by Shah Jahan the fifth Mughal Emperor, in 1638 when he decided to shift the capital of the Mughal Empire from Agra to Delhi, the Red Fort took a total of ten years to be completed. From the ramparts of Lal Quila, every year on the day of Independence Day prime minister of India addresses the speech to the nation. Due to its historical significance, as if it was the palace of Mughal emperors for 200 year, thousands of tourists and history enthusiast visit daily to see the beauty of Mughal style architecture. No doubt, Lal Quila is one of the best picnic spots in Delhi. Lal Quila is also listed as one of the UNESCO’s world heritage sites.

Located in Janpath of Delhi and one of the major attractions of the city, India Gate is a war memorial dedicated to all martyrs who gives their lives to serving the nation. The Amar Jawan Jyoti – an eternal flame burns 24 X 7 here for pay homage to martyrs. The temple sprawling over 7.5 acres, is adorned with many other small temples, fountains, and a large garden, and also houses Geeta Bhawan for discussion. Many devotees, families, school groups come here for the spiritual tour every day. Akshardham is a real preservation of Indian ancient architectural and carving in a modern way. An evening show of musical fountains is the major attraction of the Akshardham temple. Akshardham is a pleasant, spiritual, calm and beautiful place to spend a day with the family in your own devotional way. Akshardham temple remains closed for tourists on Monday every week.

Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar is a 73-meter tall tower made of red sandstone and marble and the part of the Qutub Complex. In 1200 AD, Qutub-ud-Din Aibak, the founder of the Delhi Sultanate started construction of the Qutub Minar which is further followed by his descendants. Qutub Minar is located in Mehrauli area of Delhi and listed as UNESCO’s world heritage site. Qutub Minar is also surrounded by several historically significant monuments, which are historically connected with the tower and are part of the Qutub Complex. These include the Iron Pillar of Delhi, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Alai Darwaza, the Tomb of Iltutmish, Alai Minar, Ala-ud-din’s Madrasa and Tomb, and the Tomb of Imam Zamin. Many of tourists visit daily here to see these monuments. A lush green garden along with historical monuments also makes this complex perfect for the picnics within Delhi.

Delhi Zoo – Purana Quila

Developed by Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation, Delhi and opened in February 2003 this park was conceptualized to reply to the city’s requirement for recreation space for the general population, for individuals to mingle and loosen up. Such spaces add air and life to a city and take into account all segments of the public. There are many cultural, social, and youth events organized a time to time in the garden as well where you can take part and enjoy various activities as well. The garden itself is separated into particular zones. On one side of the winding, the walkway is the Khas Bagh, a formal garden designed on the lines of the Mughal Garden. Moderate moving waterfalls in channels along its length, while blooming and fragrant bushes and trees line its ways.
