  • In this city you cannot miss to visit the he Vadakummnathan temple is the most important destination of the city. This temple is huge and stands with historical significances and believed to be more than 1000 years of old. In this temple no other religious are allowed to enter other than the Hindu devotees but other religions can have a glimpse from outside or take a photo. This temple is built on basic designs of Keralan architecture. Inside this temple you can see a huge collection of Mural paintings, and some of them are even 4 centuries old and you will be astonished to see the massive Nataraja Mural near the main gate. The main Shrine of the temple is of Vadakkumnathan along with three other shrines and the Idol is covered completely with ghee and the best part is that it never melts and seen as it is since centuries without melting.
  • Among other temples you can see Shakthan Thampuran Palace which is a true mixture of Dutch and Kerala architecture.
  • You can also visit the Art museum of Thrissur where you can see rare collection of intricate wood carvings, ancient jewelers and metal sculptures.
  • Thrissur is a place to watch the ample of natural beauty as you can visit the sparkling and milky white Athirappilly Falls falling from 80 feet and great spot to visit for picnic.
  • You can also visit the Chavakad Beach as this beach is considered one of the best beaches of the West Coast and known for its pristine beauty.
  • You must also visit the Guruvayur Temple which is dedicated to Lord Krishna and known as one of the important tourist destinations of the city.
  • While visiting Thrissur you cannot miss the Thrissur Pooram festival which celebrated at Vadakkumnathan Temple every year during the months of April and May. During this festival you can see the huge processions of decorated elephants with drum concerts umbrella exchanges and various other activities enthusiastically participated by the devotees.
