Bhopal is the capital city of the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. This city is popular for its historical significance with the old and new constructions found here. Bhopal got its name from “Raja Bhoj” who founded this city. There are many portions for which Bhopal has been known to be associated with the Mughals and these places are great places of interest in this city. Bhopal is known as the City of Lakes for its presence of various natural as well as artificial lakes in the city and is also one of the greenest cities in India, but the name of the city came on the highlights for the wrong reasons when it made news for the Bhopal Tragedy in 1984.

Also visit the Manav Sangralay which is a museum based on the tribal people and culture of the state and also you can visit Bharat Bhavan which is also a great museum in the city.
- Do visit the Upper Lake which has its association since the reign of Raja Bhoj and in this lake as you can enjoy boating and several other water activities and sports.
- Also do not forget to visit the Lower Lake which was created by the Mughals and here you can pot rich fauna as the state animal conservation is located here. You can spot deer, bear, leopards and different types of birds. Also you can visit Van Vihar a wildlife sanctuary if you want to see more mammals and birds.
- You can visit the Lakshmi Narayan Temple situated to the south of the Lower Lake, as this temple is dedicated to Vishnu and his consort Laxmi and this temples is also called as Birla Mandir.
