Kaviyoor Mahadeva Temple also called Thrikkaviyoor Mahadeva Temple is located in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the most important Shiva temples of the state and is managed by Travancore Devaswom Board. Apart from Lord Shiva, Lord Ganapathi, Lord Ayyappan, and Lord Vishnu idols are also installed inside the temple complex.

It is built in traditional Kerala Style of architecture and is one of the oldest temples of Kerala believed to be built in 10 century. Kaviyoor Mahadeva Temple is also known as Hanuman Temple and it is believed that the main Idol was installed by Lord Sri Rama himself. The temple with its copper-covered roof, golden flag mast and the eighteen steps at the eastern entrance makes it one of the most beautiful temples of the state.

The balickalpura, vaathilmaadam, namaskara mandapam and sreekoivil of this temple are decorated with wood carvings. These sculptures belongs to late sixteenth or early seventeenth century. These carvings are based on puranic texts like Mahabharata and Ramayana.
