  • Puri is counted among the seven best religious destinations of India mentioned in the Hindu Mythological books. The most famous is the Lord Jagannatha Temple which is dedicated to Lord Krishna and has a great significance. There are several stories related with the temple and the kitchen which is the most integral part of the temple is considered as the largest kitchen in the world. The Non Hindus and Hindus from outside India are restricted from entering the temple according to the temple rules.
  • You cannot miss the Puri beach which is the glimpse of the Bay of Bengal and you can enjoy at this place at its best especially with your family and children.   • You can visit the Satapada Dolphin Sanctuary which is in between the Chilka Lake and Bay of Bengal and spot some high jumping dolphins. The natural view of them is priceless and you can also go for kayaking, canoeing and boating at this place which will be a quite adventurous experience.

  • While entering in the Jagannatha Temple make sure to put off your leather items such as wallets, shoes and belts as they are prohibited in the temple premises.
  • Do visit the Nandan Kanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar near Puri. This is the place where you can have a watch to various birds and wild animals. There are many unusual animals are also kept here, so you will be lucky to see them.
  • Do visit the Peepli from where you can but applique lamps which are extremely beautiful and can be kept in your home during festivals. Also do shop for the handicrafts and the handlooms of Odhisa from the souvenir shops.
  • Do not miss the beach market which you can get on the golden beaches of Puri and you can shop for some exclusive wooden handicrafts and souvenirs from sea shells.
