The Gateway of India, Mumbai
Gateway of India is one the most unique structure located in Mumbai. Situated at the tip of Apollo Bunder the Gateway of India faces the beautiful scene of Arabian ocean which attracts the Mumbai city. It was built as an acknowledgment for Queen Mary and King George V. The colossal monument speaks the extent about the history of India. The beautifully carved designs and the well built pillars take you back to the colonial rule and remind the sacrifices of our countrymen. The ferry boating is must a do at the place as you travel to Elephant islands from Gateway enjoying the beautiful views of the surroundings.

Architecture
The Gateway of India is a great personification of the Indo-Saracen architectural style. It was designed by George Wittet in 1911 and was completed in 1924. The monument was built in yellow basalt and indissoluble concrete. The middle dome of the monument is about 48 feet in diameter, with a total height of 83 feet. The 4 turrets are the significant features of the structure designed with incredible latticework.

The place is open for 24 hours a day and there is no entry fee applicable here..
