Jaigarh Fort located in Jaipur city of Rajasthan is located atop the hill called as Cheel ka Teela overlooking the majestic Amber Fort. It was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 and was named after him. This fort is about 400 m above the Amber Fort and offers stunning views of Aravalli hills and the Amber Fort. It is one of the few military structures of medieval India protected very nearly sound, holding royal residences, a silo, an overall arranged cannon foundry, some temples, a tall tower and a cannon named as Jai Ban which is the biggest cannon on wheels in the world. The fort is 15 kilometres away from Jaipur city.

The external layers of the Jaigarh Fort are made of red sandstone and the inward layout is very fascinating, with an excellent square garden at the middle. There are immense courts and lobbies furnished with screened windows. The stupendous royal residence complex comprises of Laxmi Vilas, Vilas Mandir, Lalit Mandir, and the Aram Mandir, which used to be the homes of the imperial family throughout the rule of the Kings.
Jaigarh Fort was a core of artillery production for the Rajputs and embodies the extremely popular cannon called as Jaivana which is the planet biggest gun on wheels . Two vintage temples have expanded the fascination of the fort, one being the Ram Harihar built in the tenth Century, and the Kal Bhairav Temple of the twelfth Century.

The fort is open for the tourists from 9.00-16.30. The entry fees for Indian Nationals is Rs 35 while for other nationals it is Rs 85.
