Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga National Park is one of the oldest National Parks in Assam, India. It is famous for one-horned rhinos and composes of up to one-third of their world population. Kaziranga also possess of being the habitat of the highest density of tigers in the world and has been marked as a tiger reserve in 2006. It has also been added to the list of World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. The park also abides wild water buffaloes, elephants, swamp deer and different species of birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Kaziranga shelters 491 species of birds, 27 species of reptiles, 42 species of fish and 9 species of amphibians.

Kaziranga has richness in flora, Grasslands and damps are some of the common attributes of the place. The Birdlife International has declared it as an Important Bird Area as Birds such as the Lesser White-fronted Goose, Ferruginous Duck, Baer’s Pochard duck and Lesser Adjutant, Greater Adjutant, Black-necked Stork, and Asian Openbill stork are found here. Kaziranga national park has two types of safaris – Jeep safari & Elephant safari. Elephant safari is the most enjoyable safari to discover the wide varieties of wildlife as the place can be best explore while being on the back of elephant. Jeep safari also gives a wonderful experience of traveling in the park.
