Nanda Devi National Park
The Nanda Devi National Park is an exquisite national park located in the region of the Nanda Devi Peak in the state of Uttrakhand. It was established in 1982 along the adjoining Valley of Flower National Park and has acclaimed the status of world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988. The park is vividly striking with the overwhelming paddocks of alpine orchards and majestic sceneries. This richly diverse area is home to rare and endangered animals including Himalayan Tahr, Serow, Goral, Himalayan Black Bear, Brown Bear, Leopard, Himalayan Musk Deer, Brown Bear and Blue sheep. Its large variety of varied flora covers so many high-value medicinal plants apart from the other extinct flora.
The Nanda Devi National Park is also an ideal place for bird watchers. There are about 100 species of birds including orange-flanked bush robin, Indian tree pipit, blue-fronted redstart are seen here more often. The park is also home to several species of butterflies, 312 species of flowers including juniper and alpine vegetation. It is lovely being at this place.
