Taj Mahal is one the seven wonders of the world, actually a mausoleum made of white marble located in the city of Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It was made by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a great evidence of Mughal Architecture and recognized as a prominent figure in the World heritage sites.
Taj Mahal became a UNESCO heritage site from the year 1983 and also known for its beautiful white marble beauty with white domes and for the exclusive architecture made on it. People from all over the world come to Agra just to see this beautiful monument which is also called as the ‘Epitome of Love’.

The Taj Mahal compound is bounded on three sides by red sandstone walls, with the Yamuna river-facing side to get the best reflect of it. The complex of Taj Mahal is craved with rich Mughal architecture and one can feel the beauty of it by looking at its Jharokhas and main entrance. The central tomb of the Taj Mahal is very much similar with other Mughal tombs. You can see the architecture of this monument with some of the rich jaali work with precious and semi-precious stones.
- There are two cenotaphs which can be seen inside the Taj Mahal and some of the best and intricate work on the cenotaphs can be seen. The shape of the cenotaph is in octagonal shape made in marble screen and jali work. The jail work borders the cenotaphs from all sides and this is made from eight marble panels with intricate carvings and detailed and ensemble pierce work. The rest of the areas are carved with extremely beautiful and delicate flowery detailing done with semi-precious stones and also shows leaves and fruits patterns.
- You can walk through the beautiful Mughal garden where you will get to see the beautiful Persian gardens and this garden also denotes the four flowing rivers of Paradise and replicates the Paradise garden which is derived from the Persian style of architecture.

- Do carry a good camera because the architecture of the Taj Mahal is needed to capture which will remind you always about the Mughal architecture. But make sure to not to carry food items, inflammable, and weapons with you. And make sure to not to forget to visit the cloakroom first to avoid standing in a line.
- Make sure to sit on the love bench and take a photo with your loved one with a background of the Taj Mahal as it will remind you of the visit always and you can have some good memories with it.
- AS you are in Agra make sure to visit the Agra Fort from where you will able o know more about the Mughal history and also visit the Fatehpur Sikri because three of these are the World heritage sites stated by UNESCO.
